Somerset employers invited to explore inclusive recruitment at free Coffee and Collaboration event

Friday 20th February, 2026

Local employers are being invited to a free Somerset Council event designed to help businesses strengthen their workforce by tapping into the county’s diverse talent pool.

Coffee and Collaboration: Unlock the Power of Inclusive Recruitment will take place on Tuesday 24 February 2026, from 9am to 12pm at Taunton Rugby Football Club.

The in person coffee morning will bring together employers from across Somerset to explore how inclusive recruitment can:

  • Support productivity
  • Improve staff retention
  • Enhance workplace culture

During the morning, local employers will share their own experiences of inclusive recruitment, alongside voices from employees, including young people talking first hand about their journeys into work. There will also be practical insight into the support available locally to help employers recruit with confidence, plus real examples from businesses that have successfully diversified their workforce.

There will be plenty of time for informal networking and conversation with other employers who are focused on people, skills and sustainable growth.

Somerset Council says thousands of individuals across the county are ready and keen to work, and that inclusive recruitment is a key way to connect that potential with local business needs. The event is aimed at HR leaders, hiring managers and business owners who want to recruit smarter, build stronger teams and make a positive impact in their community.
