SWEF Enterprise Grants open for young entrepreneurs in Somerset

Friday 22nd May, 2026

Delivered locally by Somerset Community Foundation, the grants are aimed at people aged 18 to 30 who need financial support to either start a business or take an early stage venture to the next level.

There are 2 funding routes available.

A Start-Up Grant offers up to £500 for businesses that are close to becoming revenue generating.

An Established Business Grant offers up to £2,000 for businesses that are under 2 years old and ready to grow and develop.

The programme is designed to give ambitious young business owners a practical boost at a key stage in their journey, whether they are just getting started or building on early momentum.

Somerset Community Foundation is also sharing impact stories from previous grant recipients, showing how SWEF support has helped young people turn ideas into action. These include support for a Somerset maker, Clay’dor Pottery, and a mental health focused mixed martial arts initiative.

Sedgemoor Chamber of Commerce is encouraging eligible young entrepreneurs in the area to take a look at the opportunity and see whether it could help them move their business forward.
