Sedgemoor Business Excellence Awards 2025 – Your Questions Answered

Applications are now open for the Sedgemoor Business Excellence Awards 2025, and with the deadline set for Sunday the 31st of August Friday the 12th of September, many local businesses are considering whether to put themselves forward.

To help, we have answered some of the most common questions we receive about applying:

Is it free to apply?Yes, there is no cost to enter any of the award categories.
Do I need to be a Chamber member?No, the awards are open to all businesses operating within the Sedgemoor district.
Can I apply for more than one award?Yes, businesses are welcome to apply for as many categories as are relevant to them.
What kind of businesses can enter?All types and sizes of businesses are encouraged to enter from start-ups and sole traders to large employers and charities.
Who is eligible to apply?As long as your business is based in or regularly operates within the Sedgemoor area, you are eligible to apply. You do not need to be a Chamber member or headquartered locally.
How long will it take to complete the application?Each award category includes 4 short questions about the business and then 4 award-specific questions tailored to the category. Most applications can be completed in under an hour.
What are the judges looking for?Judging is based entirely on your answers, so be clear, honest and reflective of your achievements.
What happens if I’m shortlisted?Judges will be visiting shortlisted finalists this year, and those selected will be given the opportunity to purchase priority tickets to attend the awards evening on the 21st of November at The Canalside.
Do I have to attend the awards night?Attendance is optional, but we highly recommend it. It’s a fantastic evening to celebrate with your team and connect with the wider business community.
