Sansum Promotes the Importance of Mental Health

Monday 11th January, 2021

During such unprecedented times and yet another national lockdown upon us with the continuing global pandemic, Sansum, in their commitment to valuing our employees welfare decided to invest in Mental Health First Aid 2 day course (“MHFA”) training, initially for three of the team, to become Mental Health First Aiders on behalf of Sansum.

The course was delivered over two days by Jon Wood, Director, of a local company called Headmatters Ltd.  Sansum, as a responsible employer, have taken a proactive step towards supporting the continuing health and wellbeing of all our employees within the workplace are therefore now pleased to have three fully trained Mental Health First Aiders being Gemma Sansum, Company Director, Mike Davis, Area Manager and Jennifer Wilson, Business Development Manager.  With a workforce of over 200 employees, our aim, is to provide a first point of call to any of our employees who may be suffering from mental health issues, in a confidential and non-judgmental environment, applying the knowledge and skills acquired through this invaluable course.  Sansum believe, a mentally healthy workforce, is a productive and creative workforce, brought together to support each other as a team.  Particularly during these difficult times we find ourselves in.

We believe that together, we can effect a positive change and continue to protect and support our team of fantastic employees, all who are critical support workers, helping to protect our environment from the Covid-19 pandemic, but also generally through applying proper infection control, delivering an exceptional level of cleaning to schools, medical centre’s, car workshop showrooms and commercial offices throughout Southern England.  It is for this very reason, that we must provide this crucial support network of Mental Health First Aid support to all our staff.

Inspired by the Mental Health First Aid course, our Business Development Manager, Jennifer Wilson, who successfully completed and attended the course, has taken up RED January (Run Every Day) in support of Sport in Mind, helping people support their mental health wellbeing through exercise.

Jennifer’s Just Giving page is provided below, for any who wish to contribute and continue to motivate her efforts in raising funds for this valuable cause.
