Sedgemoor Chamber of Commerce is encouraging local businesses to seize an exciting opportunity to become part of one of the UK’s most significant construction projects, the Agratas battery manufacturing facility near Bridgwater.

Global battery company Agratas has officially launched its Supply Chain Portal, inviting businesses to register their interest in becoming suppliers or contractors for the multi-billion-pound facility now under construction. Delivered by Sir Robert McAlpine, the state-of-the-art plant will be the largest of its kind in the UK and will play a central role in accelerating the nation’s transition to net zero.

The project represents a once-in-a-generation opportunity for Sedgemoor’s business community, with demand spanning multiple sectors including construction, engineering, manufacturing, logistics, facilities management, and professional services.

This project is a major milestone for our region and will bring far-reaching opportunities for local businesses. Construction on Building One is now well underway, with workforce numbers expected to rise significantly through 2026. The Supply Chain Portal allows companies of all sizes to connect directly with procurement teams and position themselves for future contract opportunities.
