New weighbridge office delivers faster service for S Roberts Group Customers

Wednesday 29th April, 2026

CUSTOMERS at one of the South West’s leading waste management companies will experience faster turnarounds and a smoother service following the opening of a new purpose-built weighbridge office in Bridgwater (April 2026).

The facility at S Roberts Group has been designed to significantly reduce waiting times for customers collecting aggregates or dropping off materials for recycling, streamlining a previously time-consuming process.

Operations Director at S Roberts Group, Richard Butcher explains:

Our new weighbridge office represents a significant step forward in how we support our customers. By simplifying the route through the site and removing unnecessary delays, we’re making pick-ups and drop-offs faster, safer and far more efficient.

It’s all about making it easier for customers to recycle with us and to collect the products they need too, and this clearly demonstrates our ongoing commitment to our clients, new and old, productivity and the environment.

The new weighbridge office is staffed Monday to Friday and features a simple drive-in layout with dedicated parking, allowing customers to check in quickly and safely.

After checking in, clients proceed directly to the weighbridge located next to the office before either collecting aggregates or dropping off recyclable materials. A final weigh-out completes the process before customers exit the site.

Richard adds:

For regular customers, the system is even faster. Frequent users can go straight to the weigh-in point and will be issued with a unique card, further reducing processing times and allowing for a smoother, more efficient visit.

Overall, the new system enables customers to complete collections and drop-offs in a fraction of the time previously required, which is good for everyone as it helps boost productivity and reduces costs, which is better for business.

To support the launch, S Roberts Group is also producing an easy-to-follow infographic detailing the new site route, check-in process and weighbridge flow. The graphic will be shared across social media channels and added to the company website to ensure customers are fully informed before arriving on site.

The weighbridge initiative is the latest in a series of developments by the family-run business, reinforcing its long-term commitment to operational excellence, customer service and sustainable waste management.

S Roberts Group’s wealth of experience spans more than 95 years. It’s also one of the South West’s leading waste management companies. It provides specialist industry and geographical knowledge to advise commercial and domestic clients on the best possible waste solutions.

Based in Bridgwater, Somerset, the third-generation firm is run by the founder, Sammy Roberts’ granddaughters, Beccy and her sister Vicky Owens, who took over the business from their father, Terry, in 2004.

The dedicated and friendly team work closely in partnership with clients to ensure health and safety standards are maintained and to deliver an efficient and environmentally conscious service.

S Roberts Group holds its environmental considerations and solutions at the core of its business and adheres to these when advising and making decisions on the management of waste, resources, emissions and transport.

It also offers skip, tipper and plant hire, bulk earth moving, grab hire, recycled aggregates and demolition services for domestic and commercial clients across the South West, as well as professional asbestos sampling, surveys, removal and encapsulation.
