The Bridgwater Chamber of Commerce met with representatives of local charity Brainwave to hear about the work they do in Bridgwater and to strengthen the relationship between both partners
Diogo Rodrigues, Bridgwater Chamber of Commerce Manager, met with Dawn Chance, Lead Specialist Paediatric Physiotherapist, and Sarah Cummins, National Fundraising Manager for Brainwave.
Brainwave, a member of the Bridgwater Chamber of Commerce, is a charity that exists to help children with disabilities and additional needs to achieve greater independence by aiming to improve mobility, communication skills and learning potential through a range of specialist therapies.
Diogo was given an explanation of the various ways the charity supports young people and was shown some of the facilities including the sensory room and the hydrotherapy room, which is also used for baby swimming lessons.
Diogo said, “Dawn and Sarah have shown me what is an incredible facility in the heart of Bridgwater. This is a charity that does some remarkable work not just in Bridgwater but nation-wide. They have a special team of people here that really do care about the young people that use these facilities and want to make a difference to their lives. That must be commended”
He adds, “The Bridgwater Chamber of Commerce doesn’t just represent businesses in Bridgwater but charities too, and we are so pleased that Brainwave is part of our business network.”
2022 marks Brainwaves 40th Anniversary and they’re inviting everyone that has been touched by Brainwave during this time to take part in their celebrations! There are several ways you can get involved, by fundraising, donating or raising awareness of their work.
