Bridgwater & Taunton College’s higher education offer, University Centre Somerset (UCS), in collaboration with Bridgwater Chamber, Taunton Chamber and Somerset Chamber, is offering a fully funded Leadership & Management Short Course. This exclusive opportunity for Chamber members ensures businesses across Somerset can develop their workforce, strengthen leadership capabilities and drive organisational success – at no cost.*

This one-day-per-week programme is designed to empower employees with essential leadership and management skills, benefiting businesses by:

  • Strengthening leadership pipelines – Equipping employees with leadership skills to take on management roles confidently.
  • Enhancing workforce efficiency – Improving decision-making, communication, and team management.
  • Boosting employee retention and engagement – Demonstrating investment in staff development increases motivation and loyalty.
  • Driving business growth – Effective leadership directly impacts productivity and long-term success.
  • Supporting long-term qualifications – Employees can build on these units to complete a full HND in Leadership & Management.

The programme will cover the following units:

🔹 Human Resource Management (15 credits)

🔹 Leadership & Management (15 credits)

By completing this short course, individuals will gain credits that could contribute towards a full HTQ or HND Leadership & Management qualification in the future. The selected units provide foundational knowledge suited for new managers, those preparing for leadership roles, individuals seeking professional development (CPD), or those wishing to enhance their existing management skills.

With a blended learning approach, including face-to-face sessions, practical workshops, and online learning, this course fits around work commitments, ensuring minimal disruption while maximising professional development.


Who Can Apply?

This course is exclusively available to members of Somerset Chamber, Taunton Chamber, and Bridgwater Chamber. To qualify, please use your work email address on application and state your employer name in the free text box at the bottom of the application form.

Employees are eligible if they:

  • Are aged 19-60
  • Live or work in England
