Embracing Change and Looking Forward

Wednesday 17th January, 2024

As we step into 2024 the Bridgwater Chamber is excited to share some notable changes within our organisation that show growth, fresh perspectives, and a commitment to our members. As we bid farewell to the past and usher in the new, our resolution is to continue supporting and uplifting our business community.

One of the most exciting updates is the addition of a new board member, Mel Downing, who brings a wealth of experience and creativity to the table. Mel, the Creative Director of Design Hive, is spearheading the design and creation of our new “Bridgwater In Business” Chamber magazine. With over two decades of expertise in branding, graphic design, and web development, Mel is not only a seasoned professional but also a dedicated advocate for fostering positive impacts within the Chamber and among its members.

Mel’s involvement extends beyond her role as a Creative Director; she’ll advise on design-related projects and contribute to initiatives aimed at enhancing the overall Chamber experience. Her extensive business knowledge, gained from successfully building and managing a multi-award-winning business, positions Mel as a valuable asset to both the Chamber and its members. We are privileged to have her on board, steering us toward a future filled with innovative ideas and strategic vision.

In line with our commitment to support our business members, we are delighted to introduce Ambre Johnson, our new admin/events assistant, as a permanent member of our team. The decision to expand our staff underscores our dedication to providing increased resources to maintain a high level of service for our members. Ambre’s presence will undoubtedly contribute to the continued success of the Bridgwater Chamber, and we look forward to the positive impact she will make.

As we welcome the new, we also bid a fond farewell to Mia Barker, our T-Level student from Bridgwater and Taunton College, who has been an invaluable asset during her year-long placement with the Chamber. Mia’s dedication and hard work, contributing one day a week, have not gone unnoticed and we offer her our huge thanks! If your business is curious about the benefits of T-Levels, feel free to contact us for more information and we can help.

We’d love to see you at our upcoming Annual General Meeting on Thursday 22nd of February, where we will discuss our 2023 achievements and aspirations for the year ahead. Join us!
