Friday 24th February, 2023

Bridgwater Chamber of Commerce held its Annual General Meeting (AGM) on Thursday 23rd February which was a resounding success with a well-attended gathering of some 30 members and guests.

The highlight of the event was the address by Jo Hutchins a procurement expert who shared her insights on local authority procurement. Attendees were provided with valuable information on how to navigate the complex procurement process and how to effectively bid for contracts with local authorities.

Jo Hutchins is a highly respected and experienced procurement professional, who has worked with the local authority for many years. Her presentation was insightful, informative and engaging, and attendees were able to ask questions and participate in a lively discussion.

The AGM also provided an opportunity for members to review the chamber’s activities over the past year and hear about plans for the future. Members expressed their satisfaction with the chamber’s progress and the positive impact it has had on the local business community.

“The AGM was a great success and we are delighted with the turnout,” said Diogo Rodrigues, Bridgwater Chamber Manager. “We are very grateful to Jo for sharing her expertise with us and providing valuable insights on local authority procurement. We look forward to continuing to support our members and the wider business community in the coming year.”

The event was kindly hosted by Bridgwater Chamber Member Cossington Park, a picturesque holiday home which has been owned by the same family for around 400 years, and guests present were given the opportunity to tour the magnificent property and grounds.

The Bridgwater Chamber of Commerce is committed to promoting the interests of local businesses and providing a platform for networking, education, and advocacy. The chamber hosts regular events and advocates on behalf of its members on key issues affecting the local business community.
