Bird’s eye view of progress at Bridgwater Gateway business park

Thursday 27th September, 2018

The images – taken on behalf of construction and civil engineering specialist Encon Construction – show the 1km of private roads now in place at the 100-acre mixed-use development following infrastructure work carried out by Cardiff-based Encon, in partnership with Ravenslade, which is based in Exeter.

Phil Wade, Development Manager at Bridgwater Gateway, which is being marketed by Colliers International, said: “Remarkable progress has taken place at Bridgwater Gateway over the past year, and these aerial images reveal the sheer scale of the work that has been undertaken by Encon Construction and Ravenslade.

“There are now 1km of new private estate roads, and it will not be long before prime new commercial properties will be springing up along the sides of these roads as part of the fast-track delivery being offered at Bridgwater Gateway. Already work is underway on a new Premier Inn hotel, which will be delivered in just 34 weeks.”

Philip Woodward, Managing Director of Encon Construction said: “These fantastic drone shots give a bird’s eye view of our Bridgwater Gateway infrastructure project, which we’ve developed in partnership with Bridgwater Gateway and Ravenslade.

“The Project Team carried out an excellent job on a complex project. This included an extensive archaeological strip prior to commencement of the main works working alongside Oxford Archaeology, during which Bronze age settlements and burial sites were found.

“Other works included deep drainage was installed with some of the pipe runs being 4.5 metres deep; major earthworks including the excavation of an attenuation pond; around 600m of flexible road construction with flexible road construction with

footpaths and cycle paths, all to adoptable standard with associated street lighting and signage; installation of gas, water, electricity services and a BT network of ducts.”

Tim Davies, Head of the South West office of Colliers International, said: “The drone footage shows the vast scale of the Bridgwater Gateway business park, and also the superb setting which combines views across the Quantock Hills Area of Natural Beauty with a strategic position for access to Junction 24 of the M5 motorway.

“Bridgwater Gateway offers fantastic opportunities for occupiers seeking prime industrial and Grade A office space in the South West, and the fast-track delivery available means businesses will be able to move at impressive speed into brand new, state-of-the-art premises in a landscaped setting.”
