Amicus Law welcomes leading family solicitor Lauren Preedy as Partner

Thursday 24th July, 2025

Amicus Law, a progressive, client-focused legal firm with offices across Devon, Somerset and Dorset, is pleased to announce the appointment of Lauren Preedy as Partner and Family Law Solicitor. Lauren joined the firm in early July and is based at the Bridgwater office, where she will play a key role in expanding the Family Law team.

A highly respected specialist in family law, Lauren brings more than two decades of experience to the practice, with particular expertise in complex and high-net-worth financial cases, often involving business interests, pensions, and inherited or pre-acquired assets. She is known for delivering clear, concise legal advice with kindness and a strong sense of fairness.

Lauren is a trained Collaborative Lawyer and Chair of the Somerset group, and an active member of the Somerset Resolution committee, having previously served as its Chair. She is trained in the Resolution Together model and is committed to helping separating couples find constructive, amicable solutions. She frequently uses negotiation, round-table meetings, and mediation, and is a confident and capable litigator when court proceedings are required.

Lauren comments:“I am delighted to have joined Amicus Law. They share my values for providing exceptional client care in addition to giving expert legal advice. A good work/life balance is also very important to me and Amicus Law value their employees, providing a wonderful, supportive place for everyone, whatever their role, to work and grow.

“I have previously worked with Lev Boreiko (Head of the Family Team) and we are pleased to be back working together to grow our offering across the South West and beyond.”

Lauren’s appointment forms part of a wider growth strategy at Amicus Law, with four additional new starters joining the business across its offices during July. The firm is actively recruiting and is keen to hear from individuals who share its commitment to delivering expert legal advice with a personal touch.

Claire Lovett, Managing Partner at Amicus Law, says: “Lauren’s arrival is a significant addition to our Family Law team. She brings a wealth of experience and a compassionate, pragmatic approach that reflects our core values. We’re delighted to welcome her to the partnership as we continue to grow the firm and invest in talented people who care deeply about the work they do.”
