Amicus Law quiz night raises over £1,000 for Children’s Hospice South West

Monday 27th July, 2026

Amicus Law’s Ilminster team has raises an impressive £1,041.25 for Children’s Hospice South West following a successful charity quiz night held, at The Shrubbery Hotel last night (Thursday 23 July).

Hosted by leading South West legal firm, the event brought together local businesses and members of the community for an evening of friendly competition, fundraising and support for the firm’s charity of the year, Children’s Hospice South West. The generous funds go towards providing vital care and support to children with life-limiting conditions and their families across the South West.

Throughout the year, Amicus Law will support Children’s Hospice South West through a variety of fundraising initiatives, with the Ilminster quiz night proving to be another outstanding success and more events to be announced. Lucie Perryman from the charity also attended the evening and shared insight into the invaluable work the charity carries out for local children and families.

We are absolutely blown away by the support we received from the local community. To raise over £1,000 from a single event is an incredible achievement and a reflection of the generosity of everyone who attended, donated and contributed towards our raffle. We are extremely grateful to The Shrubbery Hotel, Lucie and the team at Children’s Hospice South West, and all those who helped make the evening such a success!

Erin Darling-Finan, Head of the Ilminster Office at Amicus Law

Children’s Hospice South West supports families across the region, providing expert care, respite and emotional support to children with life-limiting conditions and their loved ones. Every pound raised through community events such as the quiz night helps the charity continue delivering these vital services.

The event received tremendous support from the local community, with many 15 businesses participating from around the county and even more donating raffle prizes.

On behalf of everyone at Amicus Law, we would like to thank everyone who attended the event, donated, supplied raffle prizes and contributed to the evening’s success. Their support will make such a meaningful difference and will help ensure the charity can continue its important work for families across the South West.
