The latest edition of Sedgemoor InBusiness is out now, here’s what’s inside

Monday 27th July, 2026

Edition 9 of the Chamber’s magazine rounds up Somerset Business Expo, a major update from Agratas, member news and practical business advice

The ninth edition of Sedgemoor InBusiness, the official magazine of Sedgemoor Chamber of Commerce, has just been published, bringing together the latest news, member stories and practical guidance for businesses across the region. Whether you’re a Chamber member or simply keen to stay close to what’s happening in Somerset’s business community, this edition is well worth a read.

A landmark Business Expo

This edition looks back at Somerset Business Expo 2026, held at Junction 24, which grew from an original 15 stands in Bridgwater Town Hall to more than 75 exhibitors and hundreds of attendees this year, making it Somerset’s largest business event. The magazine reflects on a day built around the Chamber’s three core aims, Connect, Promote and Support, with workshops, speed connecting and Business Support Pod sessions covering everything from marketing and AI to people management and business growth. Planning for Somerset Business Expo 2027 is already underway, and businesses can RSVP now to be among the first to hear when plans are announced.

Powering Somerset’s battery future

There’s also a detailed update on progress at Agratas’ multi-billion-pound battery manufacturing facility in Bridgwater, set to be the largest of its kind in the UK. With cladding now being installed on the first building and construction advancing on the central utilities building, the facility is on track to create around 4,600 direct jobs and generate an estimated £43 billion in economic growth over 25 years once fully operational, a project with real significance for the local economy and supply chain.

Member news and practical advice

Elsewhere in the magazine, readers can catch up on Community Highlights celebrating local business milestones and good news stories, a Business Spotlight on West Country Drainage Services, and practical guidance on topics including compliance essentials most businesses overlook, tips for recruiting well, a simple framework for getting started with marketing, and why every business owner should consider a Business Lasting Powers of Attorney. There’s also a full round-up of new Chamber members, the latest Member to Member Offers, and the Chamber Members Directory.

Why it’s worth reading

Sedgemoor InBusiness is designed to do exactly what the Chamber does every day: connect readers with what’s happening across the local business community, promote the achievements and services of local members, and support businesses with genuinely useful, practical advice they can put into action. Published three times a year, it’s a chance to see the breadth of what’s happening across Somerset business in one place.
