Sedgemoor Chamber of Commerce Welcomes Five New Board Members

Monday 22nd September, 2025

Sedgemoor Chamber of Commerce is delighted to announce the appointment of five new board members, each bringing a wealth of expertise, fresh perspectives, and sector-specific experience to support the Chamber’s continued growth and ambition.

The new board members are:

  • Nick Bell, RKBell
  • Helen Lacey, HRGO
  • Emma Rathbone, ibis Bridgwater
  • Kate Shawcross, Porter Dodson Solicitors
  • Paul Newman, Hilton Aymes

Together, they represent a wide range of industries including construction, employment and HR, and hospitality, strengthening the Chamber’s ability to connect with and champion the diverse business community across Sedgemoor.

We are thrilled to welcome Helen, Emma, Kate, Paul, and Nick to the board. This was by no means an easy process, the level of applications we received was incredible and is a clear sign of the exciting momentum we are building here in Sedgemoor. Having an engaged and diverse board is absolutely vital as it enables us to reach and connect with more of the business community than ever before. This year has been transformational for us: from the launch of the inaugural Sedgemoor Business Conference, to our rebrand from Bridgwater Chamber to Sedgemoor Chamber, to becoming the fastest growing chamber in the south west with an incredible 47% membership growth. And yet, the work doesn’t stop here, bringing in such talented and committed board members ensures that we keep building on this success and delivering even greater value for businesses across the region.

Matthew Ruddle, Chair of Sedgemoor Chamber of Commerce

The Chamber looks forward to working closely with its new board members to strengthen opportunities, collaboration, and representation for businesses across Sedgemoor.
