S Roberts Group’s asbestos removal team picks-up Gold Training Award

Friday 24th October, 2025

THE TEAM at a Somerset asbestos removal company has earned a prestigious Asbestos Removal Contractors Association (ARCA) Gold Training Award for the third year running in recognition of its high standards (October 2025).

Bridgwater-based S Roberts Group reached a greater-than-average score in training sessions to receive this top industry award.

Asbestos Director, Sam Lawson explains: “This award is only presented to ARCA members who meet rigorous criteria, making it a significant and vital recognition of our team’s exceptional competency in asbestos removal.

“We’re absolutely delighted to receive this accolade, which reflects the dedication and hard work of our team – especially those who achieved above-average scores in training sessions this year.

“Our success was also acknowledged at ARCA’s AGM in October, which makes us incredibly proud. We’re very grateful to everyone involved in this part of our business. Being recognised in this way places us firmly at the very top of our industry, both regionally and nationally.”

The award is reserved for ARCA members who have completed supervisor and operative training courses through the association and have at least eight delegates participating and achieving an average score of 92.5%.

Satish Patel, Training Manager at ARCA, says: “May I personally, and on behalf of the ARCA Training and Competency Committee, congratulate S Roberts Group and all your staff on achieving the ARCA Gold Training Award. This is a considerable achievement and you and your team should be justifiably pleased. It is a testament to all your staff that have attained a higher-than-average score in training sessions to achieve this award.”

S Roberts Group’s wealth of experience spans more than nine decades and the company celebrated its 95th anniversary this year. It’s also one of the South West’s leading waste management companies. It provides specialist industry and geographical knowledge to advise commercial and domestic clients on the best possible waste solutions.

Based in Bridgwater, Somerset, the third-generation firm is run by the founder, Sammy Roberts’ granddaughters, Beccy and her sister Vicky Owens, who took over the business from their father, Terry, in 2004.

The dedicated and friendly team work closely in partnership with clients to ensure health and safety standards are maintained and to deliver an efficient and environmentally conscious service.

S Roberts Group holds its environmental considerations and solutions at the core of its business and adheres to these when advising and making decisions on the management of waste, resources, emissions and transport.

It also offers skip, tipper and plant hire, bulk earth moving, grab hire, recycled aggregates and demolition services for domestic and commercial clients across the South West, as well as professional asbestos sampling, surveys, removal and encapsulation.
