Porter Dodson celebrates third consecutive Gold Investors in People accreditation

Tuesday 13th May, 2025

Porter Dodson, a Top 200 UK law firm, is delighted to announce that it has been awarded the prestigious Gold Investors in People accreditation for the third consecutive time, reaffirming its longstanding commitment to excellence in people management and development.

Over the past two months, Investors in People has undertaken a rigorous assessment of the firm, culminating in this outstanding recognition. With only 28% of businesses achieving the Gold standard, this accolade underscores Porter Dodson’s exceptional dedication to nurturing talent and fostering a positive, high-performing workplace culture — a commitment it has proudly upheld since 2016.

Managing Partner Kate James expressed her gratitude, stating “This accomplishment is a testament to the dedication and hard work of every member of our team. We are proud to be recognised for our united, future-focused partnership and robust infrastructure that supports excellence across the firm.”

The accreditation celebrates Porter Dodson’s dynamic integration of new talent and established expertise, creating a culture where innovation flourishes and collaboration drives performance. It also highlights the firm’s clearly defined purpose, vision, and deeply rooted values, which continue to guide and inspire its people at every level.

In its report, Investors in People summarised:

“Porter Dodson is well positioned to develop as an Investors in People organisation, while increasing current levels of engagement and retention due to the following:

  • A united, future-focused partnership that balances strategic clarity with entrepreneurial thinking — creating a culture where innovation thrives, and collaboration drives performance.
  • A dynamic blend of new talent and established expertise, where fresh perspectives, specialist skills, and renewed energy seamlessly integrate with a proven team of high performers — accelerating growth and deepening capability.
  • Robust, agile infrastructure that supports excellence — from progressive knowledge systems and streamlined operations to transparent, multi-directional communication channels that keep people connected and informed.
  • A clearly defined and deeply lived purpose, vision, and values provide clarity, alignment, and inspiration across the Firm. The values are a crucial part of Porter Dodson’s guiding principles, reflecting the essence of who you are and what you stand for as a team.”

Paul Devoy, CEO of Investors in People, commented, “We’d like to congratulate Porter Dodson. Gold accreditation on We invest in people is a fantastic effort for any organisation, and places Porter Dodson in fine company with a host of organisations that understand the value of people.”

Reflecting on the award, Head of HR, Carly Spillane, added, “We are incredibly proud to have retained our Gold We Invest in People accreditation for the third consecutive time; achieving an overall benchmark above both the We Invest in People’s average and the legal industry average. This recognition is a testament to our total commitment to creating a truly exceptional environment for our talented professionals.’’

Porter Dodson continues to set itself apart within the legal industry and beyond, demonstrating that success begins and ends with people. By making work better for everyone, the firm contributes to building a stronger, healthier, and happier society.
