Brewery Field, Bridgwater – get ready to have your say

Thursday 29th October, 2020

Alongside the recently announced investment into the Northgate Leisure Scheme, Sedgemoor District Council are proposing further improvements to the immediate area of the Brewery Field and how it could look in the future.    They want you to have your say on the proposals and will be displaying proposals and ideas on local Facebook pages and, hopefully, in a socially distanced way in Angel Place shopping centre. There will be ideas, images and proposals on boards for people to look at and comment upon.

The consultation process was kicked off last night, October 28th, with a presentation to the Bridgwater Town Development Forum which gathered some positive feedback from the councillors and local residents and other interested parties.   Sedgemoor is very keen that the scheme reflects the needs and aspirations of the people who use the area and so the responses will be fed back into the final proposals.  The aim is for the Brewery Field to provide safe, attractive and well-designed and open area and play spaces and a new town centre park which provides a high-quality amenity space.    The historic Brewery Field is part of the ‘Celebration Mile’ route from Bridgwater Railway Station to the Docks which is a walking route, linking different parts of the town.

Due to the Covid restrictions and the increasing rate, they are still working out the best ways to get as much input from residents as possible and will provide further information on how to do that in the next few days.
