Amicus Law expands Devon reach with eleventh office

Wednesday 21st October, 2026

Leading South West legal firm, Amicus Law, further expands its offering in Devon, with the acquisition of a new office in Seaton, effective from 2 October 2026.

The team at Lyme Bay Law in Seaton joins Amicus Law, becoming the firm’s third office in Devon and its eleventh office in the South West. Part of Amicus Law’s long term strategy, the move expands the firm’s reach and deepens its connections within local communities by enhancing its service offering between Exeter and Weymouth.

Private client legal firm, Lyme Bay Law is managed by Elaine Gamwell TEP, a highly experienced legal practitioner, and offers a range of personal services including Wills and Probate, Powers of Attorney, Court of Protection, Severance of Joint Tenancy, and Elderly client financial management and care.

“After over 25 years in practice and 14 years running my own business, I wanted to join a team whose approach to client service matched my own. Being part of a larger firm means that my clients can be offered a full range of personal and business legal services from a single point here in Seaton, and they can be confident that whatever their issue, they will receive the same high level of personal service from the full team.”

“Welcoming Elaine and the team is an exciting time for our business as we further extend our presence across Devon, while complementing our existing Private Client expertise. Elaine has built an excellent reputation for her high-quality Private Client work and her genuine, personal approach with her clients, making this move a natural fit for us both.”

Claire Lovett, Managing Partner at Amicus Law,

“For me, becoming an Associate with Amicus Law means becoming part of a highly professional team, which will benefit my clients too – with new services offered by the wider Amicus law team. This move allows me to continue the work I love, while broadening the offering to the local community.”
