Sedgemoor fm Marks 3 Years With A Big Birthday Bash

Tuesday 11th March, 2025

Sedgemoor fm is set to throw an unforgettable celebration 6th June 2025. Dubbed as the Birthday Bash it will celebrate Sedgemoor fm’s third birthday and invite all the people who have dedicated birthday wishes to friends, loved ones and colleagues over the past year.

The ticket only event will be held at Enmore Park Golf Club in June and include live music performances from a mix of local talent and legends, each delivering a 45-minute performance.

On Monday 10th March, Breakfast Show presenter Dave Englefield announced the first of three acts, local performer Cam Chilcott, with a supporting act and headline act to be announced in the next two weeks.

Englefield says, “Personally, I’m thrilled we’re putting this live music event on. As a radio presenter I love sharing music and in my view, the next best thing to radio is live music. All the artists we’re speaking to about performing are excited to be part of this. They know we’re a great local radio station, with a growing following who already loves their music. It’ll be a great night.”

The Birthday Bash will be sponsored by three businesses who already work closely with Sedgemoor fm. Main sponsors are Jools,  the High Street Jewellers. Other sponsors of the event include Paul Smith Associates, and Bedrock Furniture.

Speaking on Behalf of Enmore Park Golf Club, Tracy Trunks said, “We are really looking forward to this event and welcoming Sedgemoor fm’s guests to our beautiful venue. We are excited to listen to the bands and meet a variety of people. Hopefully the sun will join us too so we can open our patio area for the guests to enjoy too.  Thank you to Sedgemoor fm for choosing our venue to host this great event. It will be a fantastic night! Roll on the 6th June!”

An event celebrating people of Bridgwater

The idea for the Birthday Bash came to life last year as Sedgemoor fm’s Marketing Director, Neil Fellowes, was tuned in to Nick Rickards’ Saturday Morning Breakfast Show. Nick, joking, mentioned celebrating his birthday with a bash and inviting Sedgemoor fm listeners to his house. This led to an exchange between Neil and Nick, sparking the idea of turning it into a bigger event.

The inspiration was further fueled when Jools, a key sponsor, joined Sedgemoor fm in September. Fellowes says, “When Jools became the sponsors of our Birthday File, there was the opportunity to bring Nick’s birthday idea together with Jools, a company that is all about celebrating life. Since then, Dave and I have been plotting and planning.”

Denise Finch from Jools said, “We’re thrilled to be the headline sponsor of Sedgemoor fm’s 3rd Birthday celebration! As proud sponsors of the Birthday Bash slot, we love being part of celebrating special moments, and this event is the perfect way to bring the community together for a fantastic evening. We can’t wait to celebrate with everyone and make it a night to remember!”

Fellowes adds, “This is an opportunity to celebrate people in Bridgwater. And I hope this is the start of more events like this.”

Local support for the Birthday Bash

The Birthday Bash headline sponsor Jools, are joined by two other local businesses who work closely with Sedgemoor fm.

Paul Smith from Paul Smith Associates says,  “We are very happy to support Sedgemoor fm’s music event and we are looking forward to what will no doubt be a great evening. As a family, music has always been a big part of our lives and we feel it is important to support live events and this also gives us an opportunity to support our friends at Sedgemoor fm.”

Bedrock Furniture, another of Sedgemoor fm’s sponsors, says, “With it being our 25th Birthday year and having worked with Sedgemoor fm from the start, we wanted to help support the event. There seems to be a lot of negativity about Bridgwater, but I think it’s about time we celebrated the amazing things that the town has to offer and celebrate our achievements.”
