Nominations open for the Sedgemoor Business Excellence Awards 2022

Tuesday 16th August, 2022

The Sedgemoor Business Excellence Awards is an annual event organised by the Bridgwater Chamber of Commerce. It’s been running for several years with the aim of rewarding companies, enterprises and individuals who are making outstanding contributions to the successful growth and prosperity of the district.

Diogo Rodrigues of the Bridgwater Chamber of Commerce said, “I’m pleased to announce that we have opened the nomination process for the Sedgemoor Business Excellence Awards 2022. Our official awards launch event is being held in early September, where we will announce our all-important sponsors, but we want to give applicants plenty of time to submit their nominations so we’re opening the nomination process early”

He added “One of the new award categories this year is the Sustainability/Low Carbon Award. This is a key area for businesses as we move towards net-zero, and this award will allow businesses to reflect on the challenges and opportunities they face in reducing their carbon footprint. This award ties in with the work we are doing to develop a Sedgemoor Low Carbon Initiative”

The Bridgwater Chamber of Commerce have held discussions with various stakeholders surrounding the development of a Sedgemoor Low Carbon Initiative (SLC) that will attract all employers to engage with Carbon reduction planning.

SLC will enable employers in Sedgemoor to further enhance the area’s world leading status within the sustainable energy and carbon reduction sector, by easily engaging with the initiative. The aim is to identify and encourage employers to engage in the programme and support their individual carbon management.
