New skills bootcamps at Bridgwater & Taunton College

Thursday 24th October, 2024

Bridgwater & Taunton College (BTC) is excited to announce the launch of new Skills Bootcamps – flexible training programmes designed to meet the evolving needs of today’s industries. These short courses provide individuals with in-demand skills, opening new career pathways while offering businesses an opportunity to upskill their workforce.

BTC’s Skills Bootcamps are short, intensive courses, developed in collaboration with local and national businesses to ensure the content is closely aligned with their skills requirements. Courses focus on key sectors, equipping learners with the skills and knowledge to excel in their roles or transition into new careers. With the completion of a Skills Bootcamp, learners can:

  • Upskill in their current roles.
  • Progress to accelerated apprenticeships.
  • Explore new career opportunities.

Not only are Skills Bootcamps a game-changer for learners, but they are also an incredible asset for organisations. Businesses can leverage Skills Bootcamps to:

  • Develop bespoke training solutions to address specific skill gaps in their organisation.
  • Recruit individuals who have already undergone the training at no additional cost to the business.
  • Upskill their existing workforce.

Moreover, businesses can access substantial government funding to support their participation. Small to medium employers (with 1 to 249 employees) can receive 90% funding, while larger employers (250+ employees) are eligible for 70% funding.

Skills Bootcamps offer a practical and affordable way to bridge the skills gap. For individuals, these programmes enhance employability and career progression. For businesses, they ensure access to a highly skilled workforce, ready to meet industry demands. With government-backed funding and the flexibility to tailor training to business needs, Skills Bootcamps are a great solution for professional development and organisational growth.
