Jasun Envirocare expands in Bridgwater to make carbon filters more sustainably

Thursday 16th January, 2025

A LEADING Somerset-based British air filter manufacturer that supplies companies worldwide has picked up the keys to its fifth manufacturing plant in Bridgwater as part of its ongoing plans to become more sustainable (January 2025).

Jasun Envirocare, which is a family-run and owned manufacturing and services company with its headquarters also in Bridgwater, will use its new Colley Lane Industrial Estate site to manufacture carbon filters.

Graham Bentley, Chairman of Jasun Envirocare, explains “This expansion is part of our ongoing sustainability drive. We have been bonding carbon filters for many years and that uses two ovens and a considerable amount of LPG and therefore produces CO2 emissions.

“We have designed a new process for making carbon filters, which will use a method that does not use heat and therefore reduces our carbon footprint in our race to Net Zero. Not only does this highlight our commitment to our planet but also represents our ongoing expansion plans in Bridgwater.”

The new plant at Cherry Orchard, Colley Lane Industrial Estate, is 4,200 square feet and will take the company’s total manufacturing space in Bridgwater to more than 103,000 square feet.

The carbon filters themselves are used for air pollution control and odour removal in a wide variety of places from airports, kitchens and museums to nail bars.

As one of the UK’s largest air filter manufacturers, Jasun Envirocare provides a complete range of quality, standard and bespoke, filters and systems, and all its products are made in Britain.

These include air purifiers, air filters, panel filters, washables, kitchen canopy grease filters, and HEPA filters.

As well as being specialists in the field of air hygiene, Jasun Envirocare is also an expert in water hygiene – providing a range of treatment solutions, air & water hygiene services for commercial systems, LEV, and completes installation throughout the UK.

It is committed to continuous environmental improvement and has the British Standards Institution (BSI) ISO 9001 Quality Management, ISO 14001 Environmental Management and ISO 45001 Occupational Health & Safety.

It has been accredited for Quality Assurance for 30 years and Environmental Management for 20 years.

Jasun Envirocare’s products can be purchased direct from its online one-stop-shop: www.jfilters.com. It was the first air filters company worldwide to offer its full range of products online back in 1999.

The company, whose strapline is ‘a breath of fresh air’, employs more than 200 people at its UK operational sites in Bridgwater and Waterlooville and has factories and offices in Europe too.
