Bridgwater Chamber Tours Agratas Battery Facility in Puriton

Thursday 19th December, 2024

Board Members of the Bridgwater Chamber of Commerce, including General Manager Roger Smith, were recently granted exclusive access to tour the Agratas battery facility site in Puriton, Bridgwater. The visit offered a valuable opportunity to gain insights into the progress of Building 1, a pivotal part of this landmark development poised to bring substantial benefits to the local economy.

It was great to welcome the Bridgwater Chamber to our site. Keeping the local business community up to speed on our progress is important and hopefully, despite the weather, they got a sense of the scale of the site and the opportunities for the area and work that lies ahead.

Tim Williams, Agratas Community Engagement Manager

This state-of-the-art facility, currently under construction, represents a major investment in the region. During the visit, the Chamber reaffirmed its commitment to supporting local businesses, ensuring they play an integral role in and reap the rewards of this transformative project.

It was fantastic to get on the ground at the Agratas development and see the sheer scale of the project. It’s important, as the local chamber, for us to be working with Agratas to promote local businesses into their supply chain so that the area doesn’t just benefit from the exciting opportunities that the project will bring from employment when the gigafactory comes online, but through out the whole process from the ground up. We are very much looking forward to heading back out to site as it progresses.

Matthew Ruddle, Chair of Bridgwater Chamber of Commerce

The Bridgwater Chamber looks forward to future visits as construction progresses and the project moves closer to completion. This collaboration underscores the Chamber’s dedication to supporting local businesses and fostering strong connections with major developments in the area.
