Bridgwater Chamber member Monahans has merged with counterpart O’Hara Wood Chartered Accountants.

Tuesday 15th November, 2016

Accountancy firm Monahans has merged with counterpart O’Hara Wood Chartered Accountants.

Monahans has 14 partners and employs 135 people at its offices in Bath, Chippenham, Frome, Glastonbury, Melksham, Swindon and Trowbridge.

O’Hara Wood, founded in 1990, has offices in the centre of Bath and Melksham with a client base covering the South West and beyond.

The merger has solidified a historic link between the two firms. One of the principals of O’Hara Wood, Adrian Wood, who sadly passed away earlier this year, originally trained at Monahans’ Trowbridge office.

Monahans partner Martin Longmore said: “We have known O’Hara Wood for many years, and they are a firm with a very similar ethos to our own. Monahans have just celebrated our first decade in Bath, and I am very much looking forward to starting our second decade with Laura Green and her team, and working with them for many years to come.

“The merger will make us one of the largest accountancy firms in Bath, and the local knowledge and relationships that we collectively bring together will enable us to deliver service that is second to none to the city and its environs.”

Laura Green, who joins Monahans as a partner from O’Hara Wood, added: “I am delighted with the completion of the merger between O’Hara Wood and Monahans.

“On a personal level, having been a part of O’Hara Wood for 11 years, I feel this is positive move for our team as a whole and we are looking forward to the benefits we will be able to provide our clients through our expanded service capabilities, without losing the personal touch our clients have come to expect from us.”
