Having spent 20 years as regional director with what was the Northcliffe Newspaper Group (Daily Mail and General Trust Group) I took early retirement and set up my own group of businesses. Having sold them I am now the Director of Business Development at Hilton Ames Chauffeurs (the UKs leading chauffeur company based in Bridgwater). I am also a published author and professional hockey coach. I still play league hockey and also Masters Hockey, having represented the Alliance International at the European Championships.
I am a massive supporter of local businesses and believe wherever possible in buying locally. The Sedgemoor region is undergoing a massive amount of inward investment and it is important that the Chamber ensures there is a powerful local voice representing the local shops and service providers. With a huge background in business development, I am sure I can help to encourage developers to think local first.
