Amicus Law records “best ever” Q1 as the firm continues to grow

Tuesday 18th August, 2026

Leading South West legal firm, Amicus Law, announces “best ever” first quarter in its 22-year history, with a 22.5% growth in turnover against the same period in 2025 and an increase of 65% in profits for the year so far.

With record financial results and a direct year-on-year growth, the results highlight the firm’s elevated position across the region and an ambition to match. It also recognises the firm’s development within its 113-strong team, ongoing technical investment, a huge increase in new business and strengthened financial planning – thanks to a renewed business strategy and long-term succession planning.

Compared directly against the same period in 2025, the growing firm has seen an average of nearly 60% increase across all case types, broken down by:

  • 135% increase in Commercial
  • 116% increase in Employment
  • 39% increase in Family matters
  • 37% increase in Litigation
  • 19% increase in Private Client
  • 5% increase in Residential Conveyancing

The results speak for themselves. We finished 2025/26 in a strong position and the results from our first quarter have further amplified our strong regional position. Growth is a key area of our business plan and having secured five years of continuous growth, we know our strategy will support this ambition for the years ahead.

Claire Lovett, Managing Partner at Amicus Law

In the last quarter alone, the firm has seen its youngest-ever Equity Partner being appointed, its youngest Associate being promoted as Head of Office in Taunton, a strategic Head of Disputes hire and the recruitment of a commercial sales support team.

We have a strong investment programme within our strategy, which includes plans to create more local jobs, additional branches and improved IT systems. The next five years will be the biggest and most important to Amicus Law, and I am proud to be at the helm with an ambitious team surrounding me.
