New State of the Art Website Launched for Bridgwater Carnival

Friday 21st January, 2022

A new state of the art website has been launched for Bridgwater Guy Fawkes Carnival asthe spectacular procession returns to the town’s streets later this year after a two year gap.

Designed by Taunton web design company, Somerset Web Services, the new eye catching website (www.bridgwatercarnival.org.uk) includes the introduction of custom built features which will offer a more intuitive and efficient experience for all online visitors. The new site has been built using updated software to help make it 20% faster than the previous website, and it utilises more of the screen to display content ensuring it works far more effectively on desktops, tablets and mobiles.

Tim Church, Managing Director for Somerset Web Services, said:

“Bridgwater Guy Fawkes Carnival is one of the largest illuminated processions in Europe, and we are very proud to be the event’s official website sponsor.

“We have been supporting the carnival for many years now, and we are absolutely delighted to have designed and built a new website for the event. The carnival generates so much trade for the local community and we want to play a part in its continued success.”

The new site contains many other features including an enhanced online shop which allows carnival supporters to purchase official merchandise, a dynamic display of Bridgwater Carnival’s latest Twitter posts, and an advanced Google map overlay showing specific points of interest.

It also contains a wealth of information on the spectacular carnival procession, the carnival concerts and the traditional squibbing, as well as video clips, photographs and results from carnival celebrations from yesteryear.

Dave Stokes, Bridgwater Guy Fawkes Carnival’s Publicity Director, added:

“Our website plays an essential role in promoting our carnival to a national and worldwide audience, and on behalf of the carnival committee I would like to thank Somerset Web Services for their support, help and sponsorship in bringing this project to a successful conclusion.

“It has taken a few months to finalise the content and style of the new website, and specific thanks must also go to carnival committee members, Dave and Janet Croker, for their efforts in populating some of the content.”
