Stepped into the Magic of the Forest: Breathtaking Puppetry & Music Came to Bridgwater!

People in Bridgwater were treated to a five-star theatrical experience on Saturday afternoon, 1st March, as Half a String’s spellbinding production, Breathe, arrived at St. Mary’s Church for a one-off performance.

Audiences stepped into an enchanted woodland – towering trees, a crunching forest floor, and the rich, earthy scent of nature were all brought to life through stunning puppetry, original music, and breathtaking visuals. Projected onto a giant screen above the stage, Breathe was a mesmerizing show and a real feast for the senses, wowing audiences nationwide with its blend of imaginative design and heartfelt storytelling.

With rave reviews and five-star ratings, Breathe was a must-see for families, theatre lovers, and anyone who enjoys innovative storytelling. This affordable, inclusive event, with tickets at just £5 for adults and free entry for children, brought the community together for an afternoon of culture, creativity, and connection.

Jeremy James, Bridgwater Town Deal Outreach and Events Officer, said:

Bridgwater is fast becoming a hub for high-quality arts and culture, and Breathe offered a wonderful opportunity for families to enjoy an unforgettable experience right in the heart of our town. This captivating show was part of a brilliant programme of events taking place in Bridgwater throughout 2025, supported by Bridgwater Town Council through the Bridgwater Town Deal. At a time when environmental issues and our connection to nature are more important than ever, Breathe delivered a powerful, family-friendly experience that sparked wonder and appreciation for the natural world.
