SUMMARY:First Aid at Work (FAW) 3-Day Course
DESCRIPTION:Over 3 consecutive days\, learners will develop the skills and knowledge needed to deal with a range of first aid situations\, including: assessing an incident\, managing an unresponsive casualty\, CPR\, heart attacks\, choking\, head and spinal injuries\, fractures\, anaphylaxis and more. \nThis course starts at 8.45am and finishes at 5pm on each day of the course. \nWho’s it for? \nThis qualification is specifically designed for those who are appointed to act as a first aider in their workplace. It is also ideal for people who have a specific responsibility to provide first aid in voluntary and community activities. \nWhat is covered? \nDuring this 3 days course\, learners will be given the opportunity to practise essential basic life support procedures and learn about an extended range of first aid topics including: \n  \n\nAdult resuscitation (CPR)\nAllergic reaction\nAsthma\nBone\, muscle and joint injuries\nBurns and scalds\nChest pains\nChoking adult\nCommunication and casualty care\nEye injuries\nFainting\nHead injuries\nUse of defibrillator\nLow blood sugar\nManaging an emergency\nMinor and severe bleeding\nPoisons and what to do if someone has been poisoned\nRole of the first aider (including knowledge of health and safety regulations)\nSeizures\nShock\nSpinal injuries\nStroke\nUnresponsive adult
