SUMMARY:Emergency First Aid at Work (EFAW)
DESCRIPTION:The Level 3 Award in Emergency First Aid at Work qualification is nationally recognised and meets the requirements outlined by the HSE. The course teaches real lifesaving skills that can be used in and out of the workplace. During this 1 day course\, Learners will develop the skills and knowledge needed to deal with a range of emergency first aid situations\, including: managing an unresponsive casualty\, CPR\, choking\, shock\, wounds and bleeding and minor injuries. \nThis course starts at 8.45am and finishes at 5pm. \nWho’s It For? \nThis qualification is designed for those who have a specific responsibility at work\, to provide first aid in a range of emergency first aid situations. It is also ideal for people who have a specific responsibility to provide basic first aid in voluntary and community activities. \nWhat’s Covered? \n\n\n\nDuring this 1 days course\, learners will be given the opportunity to practise essential basic life support procedures and learn about first aid topics including: \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nResponsibilities of the First Aider\nHow to check for breathing\nAssessment of injuries\nRecovery position\nResuscitation of a non-breathing casualty (CPR)\nChoking\nMajor bleeding and Shock management\nMinor injuries & burns\nSeizures\nAutomated External Defibrillator (AED)
